We were on the screen recording with Tony Baker from Frederick County Parks & Recreation to get the rundown on upcoming events, camps, and of course - when the pools open.

All pools in the Frederick County park system will open for Memorial Day weekend with regular weekly hours beginning in June. FREE swim lessons are offered to rising 2nd graders and there's a new swim team based at Clear Brook Park. Get all the pool details by clicking here.

Tony reminded us that the Youth Triathalon is coming up at the end of June and registration is currently open. You can find more details about all their running events here: runatthetop.net

There are several new and returning events happening in the coming months including a Summer Showcase concert series at Sherando Park that kicks off in June with Robbie Limon. The concerts will feature area food trucks and will be free admission to listen to music.

Fireworks return to Sherando for July 4, SportsFest happens on August 6, and the Youth Sport Scramble Golf Tournament happens in September.

Stay up to date on all the events, camps, basicREC, trips and more by downloading the summer activity guide here, visiting their website: fcprd.net and following them on Facebook.
