We pre-recorded today's conversation via Zoom to chat about the film Mount Skylight with Justin Kerns from Winchester/Frederick County Convention & Visitors Bureau and his guest director/producer Ryan Cudahy.

Ryan explained the decision to turn the short Mount Skylight into a feature film and the obstacles he's overcome due to the pandemic. We talked about the Winchester tourism office also serving as the film office and role movie-making plays in the local economy.

Ryan told us about the film's plot and how drug and substance abuse recovery is a main piece of the characters' story. The film has partnered with Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance (SAARA) of Virginia. SAARA is a statewide recovery advocacy organization. SAARA's mission is to Advocate, Educate, and Serve the SUD and Recovery Community.

To support the film - which will be 100% Virginia made - you can participate in their T-shirt fundraiser or reach out to inquire about becoming an executive producer. All of that information can be found on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mtskylightfilm
